Torres wants Mourinho at Chelsea

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres says he would welcome the chance to work under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

Torres only scored once in the Premier League in 2013, but played an important role in Chelsea s UEFA Europa League success.

The Spaniard, who has struggled to impress in west London since his 50 million-pound move from Liverpool in January 2011, said the prospect of being coached by Mourinho is a big motivation to him.

Obviously the top managers in the world are linked with the top clubs in the world, Torres told reporters.

This is the situation now. Chelsea is looking for a new manager, Jose Mourinho is free, so everyone links Mourinho with Chelsea because he is famous and because of what he’s been saying in the last few months. We have players that have been working with him so they have good memories with him at Chelsea.

I wish it would happen. I wish to have the chance to be under Mourinho s management. It s a challenge, a big motivation, so I wish it would happen.

Mourinho is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season after three seasons in charge at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
